Day 1 – Venezuela, Caracas

Arrive in the cultural capital of Venezuela, Caracas, where you will receive English assistance at the airport. Take a domestic flight to Puerto Ordaz, and transfer to Ciudad Bolivar, one hour away. It is here in the capital of Venezuela’s southeastern Bolivar State that we will spend the night in a 3 star hotel.

Day 2 – Bolivar – Canaima

On the journey down the Carrao River, enjoy the spectacular views of the Kurun, Venado y Kuravaina tepuyes. We will have dinner together and stay overnight in a rustic camp in Namima.

Day 3 – Angel Falls/ Sapo Falls

In the morning, we will visit Sapo Falls, followed by Angel Falls. The Angel Falls tumble down from a canyon that separates the enormous Auyan Mountain, situated on the north-eastern periphery of Canaima National Park.
Following the trip to Angel Falls, fly from Canaimo to Caracas, transferring in Puerto Ordaz. Once you arrive in Caracas, the largest city in Venezuela, stay overnight in the Caracas Central Littoral 3 star hotel.

Day 4 – Caracas - Lima

After a breakfast transfer to the airport for the international flight to Lima, Peru.

Day 5 - Lima - Cusco

After breakfast, transfer to domestic flight to Cusco.
Upon arrival in Cusco you are transferred to your hotel room where you have some time to rest and acclimatise to the altitude (3200m above sea level).
In the afternoon, we enjoy a sightseeing tour of the heart of the Inca Empire including the Koricancha Temple of the Sun, the 12-Angled Rock, and the Cathedral, built on the ruins of an Inca Palace.
Next we visit the archaeological remains around the city, including the fortress of Sacsayhuaman, Qenqo the giant rock, the ancient site of Puca Pucara and finally the Water Temple of Tambomachay.

Day 6 - Sacred Valley of the Inca: Lunch

Today, we explore the "Sacred Valley of the Incas". This fertile river valley was home to many important sites for the Incas, for both strategic and religious purposes.
Our first stop is the village of Pisac, with its famous market, where you can pick up a bargain! You have free time to wander the colourful market stalls before we have a typical Andean lunch at a local restaurant (included).
We then continue our journey along the River Urubamba, to Ollantaytambo, the best surviving example of Inca town planning and dominated by a giant Inca fortress, which was the scene of a famous victory for the Incas against the invading Spanish Conquistadors.
We return to Cusco in the early evening, and you may like to sample some of Cusco's famous nightlife.

Day 7 - Machu Picchu

After an early breakfast, we leave the hotel to take the train to Machu Picchu. After an impressive train ride of 4 hours through mountain valleys, cloud forest, and high rainforest, we reach this wonder of the world. Here the ’Lost City of the Incas’ occupies a ridge spur high above the raging Vilcanota River.
We have a guided tour of the site, as well as some free time to appreciate this amazing place. For the energetic, there is the chance to climb the emblematic Huayna Picchu (Little Mountain).
At the end of the day you descend by bus to the small town of Aguas Calientes to take the train back to Cusco.
Optional: Overnight in Machu Picchu.
