Day 1: La Cumbre - Challapampa: Lunch and dinner
Today get prepared to be transferred at 08:00 to “La Cumbre” at 4.650 m.a.s.l where you will be meet by your guide and the porters.
Nearby La Paz, “La Cumbre” is situated on the thrilling Death Road up in the high snow peaked mountains. It is from this place that you will begin your 4 day trek, starting by descending via a well-preserved pre-Inca trail throughout an impressive valley setting of the Cordillera Real with many coca leaf plantations and waterfalls.
You will then reach the Challapampa village at 3,200 m in late afternoon where the first camp will be set up. Dinner and overnight at the camp.
Day 2: Challapampa - San Francisco: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner
Today, continue through Choro and start feeling the different climate and landscape by entering in the semi-tropical climate of the lush highlands of Yungas, a transition area to the lowlands and the Bolivian Amazon. After you lunch at Bella Vista, carry on to San Francisco village (Kusillunani) for camping and overnight.
Day 3: San Francisco - Sandillani: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner
After breakfast, we continue hiking through pre-inca terraces and river in a sub-tropical vegetation to finally reach the house and garden of an old Japanese hermit in Sandillani. Camping overnight.
Day 4: Sandillani - Chairo - Coroico/La Paz: Breakfast
Taking the green mountain side path, you will arrive at Chairo town by mid morning where you will be picked up for a transfer to Coroico or back La Paz after an amazing trek.
