Day 1: Salvador: Arrival

The African slaves brought their “macumba”(voodoo) rites to Brazil when they landed in Bahia. Even today, the Candomblé cult make many different delights. Bahia food is spicy and the flavors are rich. Among typical dishes, the favourites are: vatapá, caruru, xinxim, sarapatel and acarajé.
