This tour is a loop, starting in the beautiful city of Buenos Aires and visiting the southern region of this amazing continent. Experience mystical glaciers, sparkling lakes, rich wildlife and breath-taking scenerary as both the Chilean and Argeninean Patagonia are explored.
Day 1: Arrival in Buenos Aires
Arrival in Buenos Aires and transfer to the hotel. Overnight in a standard hotel with breakfast.
Day 2: Buenos Aires
Today we spend time on a historical city tour, and gain a fascinating insight to the city. We visit world class museums and have time for a traditional lunch. We also visit the Recoleta cemetery - final resting place of the Argentinean elite. With some of the most expensive real estate on the planet, this is home to the (in)famous Eva Peron. We also spend time in the famous "la boca" district, with its colourful houses. The evening is spent admiring the mighty Tango and Argentinean folk music as we have dinner at one of Buenos Aires’ most well regarded shows.
Day 3: Buenos Aires – Barriloche
Arrival in Bariloche and transfer from airport to hotel where you spend the night.
Day 4: Bariloche
Today we spend the day on the "Circuito Chico" a half day excursion alongside the Nahuel Huapi Lake visiting Melipal, Playa Bonita, Moreno Lake, Llao Llao district, Puerto Pañuelo, Lopez Bay. Night at the hotel in Bariloche.
Day 5: Bariloche
In the morning we transfer to Pier to board a catamaran that crosses Nahuel Huapi Lake to Quetrihue Peninsula. Here we visit the famous Arrayanes Woods and Victoria Island. Return to hotel in Bariloche.
Day 6: Bariloche – Puerto Montt
Transfer to the bus station for regular bus to Puerto Montt. Arrival in Puerto Montt and transfer to the hotel (Full day lake crossing tour through the mountains also available).
Day 7: Southbound Cruise – Puerto Montt – Puerto Natales
Boarding the boat at 2:30pm in Puerto Montt we then set sail into the channels!. After a safety lecture and orientation we sail past Calbuco, Reloncaví Bay, Ancud Gulf and the Corcovado Gulf. Magnificent Patagonian scenery passes by as we move southward.
Day 8: Southbound Cruise – Puerto Montt – Puerto Natales
Today we continue sailing past Melinka and along North and South Pérez Channels . We visit a seal colony that fish the waters. We then move onto Brieva Strait and Peñón Blanco where we enter Pulluche channel, sailing out to sea in the evening. Today we also have a talk from the native Kawéskar people who give us a fascinating insight into their customs, beliefs and way of living.
Day 9: Southbound Cruise – Puerto Montt – Puerto Natales
We move into the channels zone. The first stop is Messier Channel followed by Angostura Inglesa and Bajo Cotopaxi. We have some free time ashore at Puerto Edén. We also have an excursion to Glacier Pio XI. The vessel then moves through Abismo strait and onto Concepción Channel.
Day 10: Southbound Cruise – Puerto Montt – Puerto Natales
In the morning we enter the White Channel and move to the Última Esperanza Fjord. Following this we arrive at Puerto Natales, where our journey ends early in the afternoon. Transfer from the port to the hotel for overnight.
Day 11: Puerto Natales
Today you have a free day where you can relax or undertake an optional tour. A popular option is to visit Bernardo O’Higgins National Park in order to navigate the Ultima Esperanza Fjord and visit the majestic Monte Balmaceda and Serrano Glacier, which form the southern limits of the Patagonian Ice-Fields (not included in tour cost).
Day 12: Puerto Natales – Torres Del Paine
Today we wake early and begin our tour of the Torres del Paine National Park. The day includes spectacular views of the Towers and the Torres Massif, as well as the stunning lakes of Sarmiento, Nordenskjold and Grey, a lake which is peppered with floating blue icebergs from the snout of the Grey Glacier. In addition to the striking geographical formations on show, you are guaranteed to see a variety of impressive plant and wildlife, including; condors, rheas and guanacos. We spend the night at one of the superbly located lodges within the park.
Day 13: Torres Del Paine – El Calafate
Today we will board a regular bus to El Calafate. Arrival in El Calafate. Regular transfer to the hotel for overnight.
Day 14: El Calafate
Full day regular excursion to Perito Moreno glacier with entrance fee included. Overnight in a standard double room with breakfast.
Day 15: El Calafate
4x4 excursion to the Balconies of El Calafate inc. lunch. Overnight in a standard double room with breakfast.
Day 16: El Calafate – Buenos Aires
Transfer in the morning for flight to Buenos Aires. Arrival in Buenos Aires and transfer to hotel for overnight.
Day 17: End of tour
Tour ends after breakfast.
